My eyes have seen it all! One more fusion for the books, this time in laser 4s??? Remember when the laser 4's hit the streets, the hype was bananas. This incredible design is set to release again, nobody knows when though. The suede design will give a nice touch to the AF1xAJ4 collab, these will def be at the Takeover-will you be the 1st to wear them?

Takeover Hosts haySON's Birthday weekend

Okay, Okay, Okay!!! My phone has been ringing off the hook, tweets, texts etc about the blog not being updated. Like I said before we are only human. July 25th was my birthday and if you know Suraj then you know he will not let you off by just going out to dinner or a dope BBQ. One phone call turned into 800 and before we knew it, we were amongst the freshest days we've seen in a while. First we were in an undisclosed location shooting Fat Joe's No Problem music video with DJEnvy, FunkFlex, and Fat Joe. They shut it down! Classic scene-Suraj holding a bottle of Conjure in the video and Joey wearing copper foams, delivered by Suraj himself. Easy.

After an already hectic morning. The Sneaker Ambassador brought DJMikeSessions, DJTripleThreat, and Pure out to York Street Tavern in Jersey City. We rocked till daylight and hardly remember it. Enough said....watch and put it in words yourself.

This shoe has made its mark in the sneaker world. The Air Jordan 13 is such a beautiful masterpiece. Air Jordan is retro-ing the Flint colorway this holiday season. What a great impression this will make on the sneaker world. This will be at the Takeover. ( I wonder if there will be a camp out for these right outside the stores entrance.)

WE are all human! That's how I want to start this post today. We have been working hard all week setting up for some of the upcoming events in store. Hey! At least you know this is not computer generated...we are busy people with absolutely no time in the day to finish everything we want to...Im sure you all can relate. With that being said, here is what we missed this week.

Today, (yesterdays) pick was the '97 Reebok Kamikaze 2- Shawn Kemps. What a beautiful shoe. This sneaker was my holy grail for 3 years, until I found some kid in NYC selling em for dirt cheap. That's when I hopped on the Path train to 33rd Street and told him to meet me by the Foot Locker located by the Pacsun..exchanged goods and ran like hell before he could change his mind. The hypnotic zig zag design on both ends of the shoe give it a rebelious urban look that you cannot resist. The hint of green on the outer sole gives the shoe texture while maintaining life. This Reebok is personally my favorite and will remain my HOLY GRAIL. Thank you Reebok for creating this astonishing work of art.

The Hunt for Sole

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well they're wrong, these are all worth one word- HEAVEN!!!!

During our trip out west, we discovered so many underground gold mines. We were like kids in a candy store! Vintage, Jordans, and Nike Dunk Sbs were found and cherished during this escapade! You name it we had it with us, and the best part was we couldn't even pack em' all in our suitcases. If you can look at these pictures and not feel some type of way inside of you; a burst of excitement or a tingling sensation between your legs, then you're obviously on the wrong site! Enjoy the pictures because we sure did.

Kickin' it (no pun intended) at a BBQ this summer, feelin' great, I decided to express my emotions towards the Takeover. When you think of sneaker art via Canvas (because sneakers are already art) one name comes to mind: DAVE WHITE. This dudes talent is un-matchable. Nobody comes close to the detail, the form, or the texture that compares to his work. AMAZING. You've most likely seen screensavers, posters, or if you've been blessed, actual paintings of his work.



TAKEOVER'S OWN: LIQUID
Inspired by Dave White's designs-I decided to try my hand at Canvas Sneaker Art. I CUT the bottom SOLE of an ORIGINAL 1993 AIR JORDAN AQUA VIII shoe and gorilla glued it to a canvas. I then, matched some colors, and labeled it "SOLES FOR THE SOUL." Crazy? Partially! It helped that they already cracked-so breathe easy fellow sneaker enthusiasts!!! It's all for the love of the culture....Thank you Dave White.

Throwback Thursdays: '95 Reebok Shaqnosis

The 90s birthed some of the most astonishing pairs of basketball sneakers EVER. Air Jordan, Nike, Fila, and even Converse had their moments to shine. One shoe that still stands out is branded by Reebok. The makers of the infamous pumps hosted a signature line for the powerhouse Shaquille O'neal. He has plenty of kicks that still remain untouched in terms of ridiculously sick designs, I mean, have you seen the insta-pumps. This shoe popped out at us like a sore thumb. The 1995 Reebok Shaqnosis. The hypnotic design mesmerizes any set of eyes laid upon them. I am more then thrilled that this pair is the throwback of the week.
